This last Thursday, the IPC_ Miami held its second social event at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. The intimate event was hosted this time by IPC-Miami CEO Mr. Bill Lara Jr. guests included Casa Y Hogar magazine,
Radio Miami, The Daily Post, Greenworld Magazine , Miccosukee Magazine and, the recently created Miami Military Academy Alumni Association (the official name is still to be determined). Also in attendance were Juanito Ruby of the Dade County Court System and, Dade County Mayoral Candidate Gary Johnson.
Mr. Houston Cypress Executive Producer of addressed the gathering with much appreciated insight on the current state of The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida as it pertains to the tribe’s efforts to actively reach out to the community at large culturally and emotionally.
The appeal of this new effort by the Miccosukee was such that, the members in attendance pledged their support for the coming events at the Miccosukee embassy on Sept. 13th and Hotel on Sept. 24.
Also discussed were plans to get together with the MMA Alumni (represented at the “social” by Mr. Angelo Mabin) to generate a joint event possibly to benefit military families. A point to be further discussed. Mayoral Candidate Johnson also addressed the group briefly to confirm his support and express his understanding for the need of such a group as IPC-Miami in our ever developing county.
And, a further suggestion to provide job and work information links in this newsletter. Ana of Casa Y Hogar volunteered to help in the development of these new features and, with the day-to-day management of it as well.
Finally, it was announced that our up and coming guest for our next social (last Thursday of August) will be Princess and Confucian/Taoist Master Chu Fei Tsai. Master Tsai was responsible for originating the Dalai Lama’s last two visits to the U.S. and is the only woman of such rank in the world. Master Tsai is based at the Zen Village in Coconut Grove Florida from where she travels around the nation and the world to further her mission of peace. Please r.s.v.p. early as seating will be very limited for that “social”. Please make all arrangements to attend through Mr. Ron Valme at 786-222-9989 (if he does not answer directly, please leave a message).
