We are taking over this convoy parade event for the ICCSD  (Independent Chamber of Commerce of South Dade)  as a gesture of our commitment to the community we so proudly belong to. And, to add our voice  as loudly as we can to a citizen salute to our homecoming troops and veterans.

IPC-Miami will take the position of organizing host for this historic event dubbed “The Freedom Convoy” Parade.

You can see most of the details through  the ICCSD page link on the Keg South Parade Kick off party teaser.

Finally, please make sure you subscribe to this blog so you can keep up with events, invites and, industry news!

Cheers!,  Bill Lara;)

Neil Armstrong talking space planes & more

Monday morning, Professor Neil Armstrong (yes, that Neil Armstrong) gave a talk out here in California about his experiences in the X-15 suborbital flight program. The X-15 was America’s first dedicated high speed, high altitude, rocket-powered suborbital space plane, and back in the early 1960s it was busy paving the way for the commercial spaceflight development that’s one of the most exciting things happening in space today.

The  Freedom Convoy Parade,…

a civilian homage to our returning troops.

Finally, we also raised a our first couple of hundred dollars towards our projected parade. In fact, here is where that stands right now:

We are going to hold a traffic cavalcade that requires no special permit to close any streets. We will just do  a drive along in caravan, vehicles will all move at the indicated speed limit but, will slow down for the pass in front of the honorees. All vehicles will park immediately after the pass at a legally designated spot.  And, the marching volunteers will assemble from the vehicles behind the pre-loaded volunteers leading the honor march

Celebrate Miami Film Month with DocMiami International Film Festival and filmmaker/star of the documentary, Esther Anderson who will be present for a Q & A Session after the film. Special guest speaker, Maya Angelou’s grandson, Elliott Jones as well as Bob Marley’s cousin, singer Alex Marley and his nephew, Good Morning America – Chef, Charles Maddock Aston Barrett Jr. and his band “Reggae Force” will also contribute to this wonderful evening.

Through intimate scenes shot on a Sony video camera in the 1970s, Jamaican filmmaker Esther Anderson artfully constructed the union between Reggae and Rasta that launched the international career and renowned image of Bob Marley and The Wailers. Revisiting that formative time, she reveals to what degree her original vision set in motion the radical change of perception and consciousness both musically and socially around the world. “DocMiami is incredibly honored to be able to present this documentary to South Florida in celebration of Miami Film Month.” said Monica Rosales DocMiami, Executive Director.

In 2011, DocMiami was Recognized in ProductionHub as  “Spiciest Film Festival”. DocMiami is an organization dedicated to promoting the best that documentary filmmaking has to offer worldwide. DocMiami seeks to provide filmmakers a forum which promotes their unique contributions to the evolution of the cultural arts within South Florida and within the entertainment industry as a whole.

Bob Marley the Making of A Legend is a kaleidoscopic portrait of the making of a legend. Through intimate scenes shot on a Sony video camera in 1970s Jamaica filmmaker Esther Anderson artfully constructed the union between Reggae and Rasta that launched the international career and renowned image of Bob Marley and The Wailers. Revisiting that formative time she reveals to what degree her original vision set in motion the radical change of perception and consciousness both musically and socially around the world.

Special Screening presented by DocMiami International Film Festival in Partnership with MDC Tower Theater – MIFF and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors bureau in celebration of Miami Film Month.
